Description
We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester Consultant to design, implement, and maintain robust automated testing solutions across UI, API, and accessibility testing. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java-based automation frameworks, cross-browser testing, CI/CD integration, and accessibility compliance, along with the ability to consult with stakeholders and guide quality practices across teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in Agile environments, contributing to test strategy, and ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable test automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable automation frameworks using Java. Implement BDD-based test automation using Serenity (Cucumber experience acceptable). Develop and execute UI automation tests using Selenium WebDriver. Design and implement API automation tests using Karate (or Rest Assured) and validate APIs using Postman. Ensure automation coverage across functional, regression, and smoke test suites.
Mac Assistive Technologies: VoiceOver, Voice Control
Windows Assistive Technologies: NVDA, JAWS, Dragon Use browser-based accessibility tools such as WAVE, Lighthouse, and Axe. Execute cross-browser and cross-platform testing using SauceLabs or equivalent cloud testing platforms. Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. Ensure automated tests are executed as part of build and deployment pipelines. Monitor test execution results and proactively address failures and flakiness. Perform database validation and backend testing using SQL and PostgreSQL. Validate data integrity, transformations, and system interactions across layers. Contribute to automation test strategy, framework standards, and best practices. Act as a quality consultant, advising teams on automation, accessibility, and test coverage improvements. Participate in test planning, estimation, and risk analysis activities. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams in Agile delivery models. Maintain test documentation, framework guidelines, and reports using Jira and Confluence. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives. Mentor junior testers and share automation best practices across the team.
Experience
4 to 7 years of overall experience in software testing and test automation. Strong hands-on experience in Java-based automation frameworks. Proven experience in UI, API, and accessibility automation testing.
