Full Description
We are looking for a hands-on Automation Test Lead with deep expertise in JavaScript-driven automation frameworks and experience testing Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter). This role requires a strong technical leader who can design, code, and scale automation frameworks, while embedding test automation into Guidewire delivery lifecycles. Beyond execution, this is a builder role focused on end-to-end automation engineering for enterprise insurance platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Lead automation strategy for Guidewire programs, ensuring automation is aligned with business-critical insurance workflows. Design, develop, and maintain JavaScript/TypeScript-based automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, WebdriverIO) tailored for Guidewire applications. Develop reusable libraries/utilities for Guidewire UI, API, and integration layer automation. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure shift-left testing across Guidewire releases. Collaborate with Guidewire developers, QA, and business SMEs to identify automation opportunities and maximize coverage. Perform hands-on coding, code reviews, and framework enhancements. Troubleshoot automation issues specific to Guidewire workflows, integrations, and upgrades. Mentor and guide junior testers to upskill them on JavaScript-based automation for Guidewire. Provide stakeholders with dashboards and reports on automation health, defect leakage, and coverage.
Required Skills
Proven hands-on experience automating Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter). Strong coding expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript with frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, or WebdriverIO. Solid understanding of Guidewire architecture, UI flows, API services, and integrations. Experience with API automation tools (RestAssured, Postman/Newman, or SuperTest). Strong knowledge of Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI). Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC, Agile delivery, and test strategy design. Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills. Leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams while remaining deeply technical.
