Role & seniority: System Firmware Test Development Engineer / Systems Test Validation Engineer; typically 8+ years of relevant experience in firmware/software validation or development.
Stack/tools: C, C++, and scripting (Python, Perl, etc.); automated test frameworks and CI; pre-/post-silicon firmware and system test environments; knowledge of BIOS concepts (ACPI/SMBIOS), platform features, and enterprise server hardware.
Define and implement platform-level end-to-end test flows to validate firmware across boot and runtime.
Develop detailed regression test cases and procedures aligned with automation and CI practices; ensure automation-friendly designs.
Conduct test execution, debug issues with firmware developers, and drive defect resolution; contribute to test strategy, coverage analysis, and test infrastructure improvements.
8+ years in firmware/software validation or related fields; experience with embedded/firmware and pre-/post-silicon environments.
SoC/system-level debugging and strong understanding of Computer Architecture; proficient in C/C++ and scripting (Python, Perl).
Experience with enterprise server platform features and platform-level validation; familiarity with BIOS concepts, memory subsystems, power/telemetry, and security basics.
Knowledge of RAS validation, PCIe/CXL, virtualization/firmware enablement, TPM/SPDM/secure boot, MCTP/PLDM/RDE sideband protocols.
