Role: Test Development Engineering Manager (senior, individual contributor lead)

Stack/Tools

  • Mixed-signal ATE platforms (preferred: Teradyne ETS-88/ETS-364, J750, ACCO STS8000, Changchuan CTA8280F/CTA8290D)

  • Analog/mixed-signal IC test hardware and software design

  • Automation for parametric measurement and dynamic signal analysis

  • Design-for-testability, correlation, characterization, production release

Top 3 responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Test Engineering teams across all product-development phases (design-for-testability, test hardware/software, hands-on debug, correlation, characterization, production release)

  • Ensure projects stay on track and meet quality/timing goals across NPD/NPI cycles

  • Hire, train, and mentor Test Engineers; coordinate with global MPS engineers

Must-have skills

  • 3+ years (5+ preferred) of power IC Test Engineer management experience

  • BSEE or similar (MSEE preferred)

  • Proficiency with switching regulator topologies (LED drivers, chargers, digital controllers)

  • Experience with mixed-signal ATE platforms ( Teradyne ETS-88/ETS-364, J750, ACCO STS8000, Changchuan CTA8280F/CTA8290D)

  • Strong English or Mandarin (bilingual a plus); excellent communication and collaboration

Nice-to-haves

  • MSEE

  • Campus hiring or building engineering teams

  • Multinational collaboration experience; willingness to travel internationally

Job Summary

MPS is seeking a highly motivated and initiative-taking Test Development Engineering Manager. The candidate will be involved in helping to build and manage a team that participates in all phases of product development: design for testability, test hardware and software design, hands-on debug, correlation, characterization and production release (NPD/NPI). MPS specializes in Switching regulators, LED drivers, Battery Chargers, Digital Controllers for commercial and automotive products.

Essential Functions

Lead Test Engineering teams that design component-level circuits for precision parametric measurement, dynamic signal analysis and create automated test system software for analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Ensure the engineering team stays on track for all phases of product development: design for testability, test hardware and software design, hands-on debug, correlation, characterization and production release. Possesses exceptional knowledge of Test engineering concepts and can apply these concepts to a wide range of complex assignments. Hire, train, and mentor Test Engineers.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required: Minimum of 3 years power IC Test Engineer team management experience. 5+ years experience preferred. BSEE or similar required, MSEE a plus. Familiar with mixed signal ATE test platforms, such as Teradyne ETS-88(Preferred), ETS-364, J750, ACCO STS8000, Changchuan CTA8280F/CTA8290D (preferred). Strong proficiency with switching regulator topologies including LED Drivers, Chargers, and Digital Controllers. Willing to travel internationally for training and technical discussions on occasion as required. Excellent oral and written English or Mandarin skills required. Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a plus. Experience in hiring, campus recruiting, and building a strong engineering team. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to facilitate a strong working relationship with MPS engineers worldwide.
