Role & seniority: Supplier Quality Engineer; experienced professional (8+ years in Aerospace Quality).
Stack/tools: Aerospace quality systems and tools (AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102 FAI); audits (APQP, process/product); MRB; PFMEA; PPAP/APQP; DOE, SPC, RCCA, MSA; GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation; FAA/EAR/ITAR knowledge; client/vendor auditing and reporting.
Conduct and/or lead supplier quality audits (AS9100, special processes, APQP, process/product audits) and assess manufacturing/quality processes.
Lead/support MRB actions, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification on-site at suppliers; escalate unresolved issues.
Develop and maintain supplier performance reporting; drive continuous improvement (Lean/Six-Sigma/Poka-Yoke/PFMEA); coordinate with internal/external stakeholders; provide technical guidance.
8+ years as a Quality Engineer in aerospace manufacturing.
5-8 years FAI experience per AS9102; strong GD&T and drawing/spec interpretation.
Hands-on experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 in production/logistics; ability to lead customer audits; strong communication; project/time management and teamwork.
ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CQT, CMQ, CSQP) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
Practical experience with DOE, FMEA, SPC, RCCA, APQP, PPAP, control plans, metrology/software.
FAA/EAR/ITAR knowledge.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing and expanding on key initiatives inside of the supplier quality organization. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing various supplier quality engineering related activities such as Compliance, Process, and Product Audits, MRB, FAI Witnessing, Review and Sign off, Problem Solving, Corrective and Preventive Actions, Supplier Performance Reporting and other Quality Improvement Activities.
Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Vision: Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment: Typical office conditions, directly working Quality management team, working with the SMS team, and external customers.
Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will occasionally drive long distances to and from various suppliers as needed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
