Role & seniority: Application Security Test Engineer (hands-on, individual contributor within Instrument Software Test)
Stack/tools: Desktop/platform software across Linux, Windows, macOS; installers, configuration, permissions, logging, secrets handling, update mechanisms; security testing tools (intercepting proxies, vulnerability scanners, dependency analysis); scripting/programming in Python, JavaScript, Ruby or similar; Agile development environment
Perform application security testing of desktop apps, background services, and tooling across supported OSes
Design and maintain security-focused test cases from requirements, architecture, and risk; produce clear vulnerability/defect reports; validate fixes and prevent regressions
Identify vulnerabilities via exploratory testing, dynamic analysis, misuse scenarios, and security tooling; collaborate within cross-functional teams to embed security in SDLC
Experience in software/application security testing or security-focused software testing
Hands-on testing of desktop/platform software on Linux and/or macOS (Windows beneficial)
Knowledge of common vulnerability types and risk-based testing; experience with security tools (proxies, scanners, dependency analysis)
Proficiency in at least one language (Python/JavaScript/Ruby or similar); ability to write scripts/tools to support testing
