We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Systems Integration Test Lead to oversee and coordinate the testing of complex, multi-system integrations. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills with proven experience in managing integration testing across distributed applications, APIs, and cloud environments. Must have deep knowledge of complex system multi-tiered architecture, technical stack and data/messaging communication flows.
This role will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of end-to-end & system integration testing activities - manage e2e testing and coordination with external integration partners, ensuring system interoperability, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Test Strategy and Planning
Define and implement a comprehensive systems integration test strategy aligned with overall project and release objectives across all environments. Develop detailed test plans, scenarios, and integration workflows covering data exchange, API interactions, and component interoperability. Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and business analysts to identify integration touchpoints and dependencies. Establish test entry/exit criteria and coordinate readiness reviews across teams.
Test Execution and Management
Lead the execution of integration, system, and end-to-end testing across multiple platforms and environments. Coordinate and liaise, plan testing activities with external Integration teams to ensure integration testing is planned and executed for external dependency releases and internal releases. Oversee defect triage and root cause analysis, ensuring timely resolution and retesting of issues. Ensure test environments are properly configured and maintained for each integration cycle. Track testing progress, report metrics, and provide visibility to stakeholders on system integration health and readiness. Independently troubleshoot e2e flows by evaluating logs, GIF, database/data flows, messaging queues, etc. Report on status to stakeholders on regular cadence and for release signoffs.
Automation and Tools
Own and develop Integration Automation frameworks and tests to improve coverage and efficiency. Work with DevOps and QA teams to integrate automated integration tests into CI/CD pipelines. Select and manage appropriate tools and frameworks for Integration Automation Tests (e.g., Postman, ReadyAPI, JMeter, Selenium, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Collaboration and Communication
Coordinate with external and cross-functional teams — including development, DevOps, infrastructure, RM, SRE and QA — to ensure seamless test execution. Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders and project managers. Promote best practices in integration testing, data validation, and quality engineering across teams.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvement in test planning, environment setup, and test execution. Evaluate emerging tools and technologies to enhance integration testing effectiveness and automation. Mentor and guide team members in integration testing methodologies and practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3+ years focused on systems integration or end-to-end testing leadership. Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs (REST, SOAP), message queues, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML).
