Test and validate FAA E-IDS and AIMS system components (including UI and system/test plans) and support customer acceptance

Define, document, and track tests, discrepancies, change requests; maintain regression procedures and test processes

Develop and execute test plans (requirements traceability, procedures, execution, reporting) and assist in aviation scenario development; support patch testing and operational problem resolution
Must-have skills

Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking a Test Engineer for our civil aviation programs, working in support of our E-IDS and AIMS group. BS with min of 10+ years of relevant experience. Will substitute additional years of experience for degree. FAA experience is required.
The position is located at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey.
Duties
Support FAA E-IDS and AIMS project Test the User Interface of the E-IDS Prototype Reviewed FAT Test Approaches and Success Criteria Perform DR&A (Data Reduction & Analysis) Tool testing in FAA lab. Performed the Virtual Channels State Transition Test Test and analyze systems development including integration, systems testing, probability testing, field test plans and customer acceptance plans to maintain the credibility/viability of the system Defines, documents, analyzes, performs, and interprets developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components Document test discrepancies and author change requests as required Communicate and document issues identified during test conduct Maintains existing test processes and documentation to ensure adequate record-keeping and knowledge-sharing Organize and maintain baseline regression procedures in support of operational releases Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with engineering and technical personnel Support Test Team in developing test plans, requirements traceability ,procedures, development, execution, and reporting Support testing in a Java and C++ development environments Formally conduct customer-witnessed testing demonstrating system requirements and functionality Support Operational patch testing, includes system and adaptation changes Support Aviation scenario development
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (in computer science, engineering, or mathematics) with 6+ yrs. related experience, FAA experience is REQUIRED
Competent using software testing tools Analytical and problem-solving skills Understanding and experience in the complete life cycle of software in an aviation systems environment Experience in roles that required demonstration of excellent communication and writing skills Experience with performing scalability and performance testing Experience using JAVA or C++ helpful Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members Competent in the use of formal testing methodologies
