JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY: The Manager, Corporate Compliance is responsible for assisting in the management of one or more regulatory compliance programs including but not limited to, consumer deposit or lending regulations, non-deposit investment products, insurance products, privacy laws and regulations, and other compliance areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees first-line compliance guidance and oversight provided to the lines of business. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and liaison to the compliance department for regulatory compliance matters. Oversees a team of specialists who monitor compliance to Consumer regulations including but not limited to the following as assigned: Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Consumer Protection in Sales of Insurance, Truth in Lending Act, , HUD Home-ownership Counseling Requirements, Fair Credit Reporting Act/FACT Act, , Flood Insurance Requirements, HUD’s Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Service members Civil Relief Act, Expedited Funds Availability Act, Truth in Savings Act, , , FDIC Advertising Rules, Reserve Requirements of Depository Institutions, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, and Non-deposit Investment Products. Oversees compliance reviews completed by team in all pertinent areas of the Bank for procedures and compliance relative to the respective regulations as assigned. Monitors the maintenance of records of all internal testing of required banking, state and federal regulations. Reviews final compliance audit reports to inform the appropriate managers of exceptions, violations, or deficiencies. Oversees and ensures risk assessments are completed in a timely manner. Ensures that the policies and procedures of the organization that are impacted by consumer compliance regulations comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Reviews and interprets new and pending laws and regulations which potentially affect the organization's business practices. Coordinates the development or revision of policies, procedures, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance and communicates changes recommended to impacted areas of the organization. Works with top management on strategic planning activities to ensure and enhance organizational compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Cooperates with general counsel as requested on matters involving questions regarding the organization's compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Prepares written reports on compliance matters indicating compliance with laws and regulations as well as areas of non-compliance for senior management and Board reporting. Balances regulatory requirements with the best interests of the bank and its clients in determining the best course of action on particular compliance issues. Performs compliance duties as may be required with bank acquisitions and consolidations or sales of branches. May function as department representative to corporate operations committees on special projects (i.e., new products, mergers/acquisitions, sales of branches, etc.). Disseminates information and advises staff regarding new and existing laws and regulations. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management. Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act. Participate in all applicable committees as assigned as a member and/or participant to insure knowledge relative to these activities is communicated to all levels of management. Remain in tune with industry best practices in regard to all functions. Serves as point person for all internal and external audits conducted in connection with these activities. Whenever necessary, provide needed support for all disaster recovery plans and related activities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of a team of associates, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding associates and enforcing policy and procedure; addressing complaints and resolving problems. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s Degree required. 5 years of banking experience preferably in a compliance function required. Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation or a similar certification highly preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Knowledge of federal and state compliance laws related to banking. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Excellent communication, analytical, client service, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel. Strong presentation and training skills.
