Top 3 responsibilities

  • Develop testing procedures, fixtures, equipment, and related documentation; analyze customer requirements

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain test fixtures, test PCs, and test software; assist production with test needs down to component level

  • Install and support test software, programming tools, and engineering VLANs; guide other test engineers

Must-have skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field (Master’s preferred) with requisite experience (7 years; or 5 years with Master)

  • Advanced ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams; intermediate CAD/drafting

  • Deep knowledge of analog/digital circuits, embedded systems; strong troubleshooting to component level

  • Proficient with electronic test equipment and PC hardware; soldering/rework (through-hole and SMT)

  • Experience with LAN/WAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP; strong technical writing and documentation; effective communication

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior technical writing experience; advanced PC hardware/OS experience; experience building prototypes and wiring systems

  • Multidisciplinary collaboration skills; project planning and prioritizat

We are looking for a Sr Test Engineer to add to our growing team!

Job Summary & Essential Functions

Provide test engineering for facility. Support Test Engineering function by providing guidance and support to other test engineers. Troubleshoot test fixtures, software, and procedures.

  • Perform analysis, diagnostics and preliminary evaluations of products; develop testing procedures and fixtures as required
  • Develop test procedures, equipment and fixturing design responsibilities
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop testing procedures
  • Repair and maintenance of test fixtures
  • Install test software, programming software and repair test PCs
  • Repair and troubleshoot test PCs
  • Assist Production with test needs and troubleshooting PCA down to the component
  • Set up and support the Engineering VLAN
  • Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Advanced ability reading schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Intermediate ability in schematic capture and electrical design
  • Advanced knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuits and theory
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Advanced knowledge using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, 4wire LCR meters etc
  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot down to the component level for both analog, digital, and embedded circuits/systems
  • Advanced technical and documentation skills
  • Proficient with Solid Works, AutoCAD and/or other drafting applications
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking technologies, including Ethernet and TCP/IP
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Advanced ability to troubleshoot PC hardware
  • Soldering skills, rework with through hole and SMT components
  • Advanced ability to build prototypes and wire systems
  • Intermediate level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to negotiate and manage conflict tactfully and professionally
  • Ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field
  • Seven years of relevant work experience required
  • Master’s degree in related technical field
  • Five years of relevant work experience required
  • Previous experience with technical writing
  • Previous advanced experience with PC hardware, OS system, and installing and working with test software
