AUTSORSA is a fast-growing company founded and based in Bulgaria, serving clients worldwide through business outsourcing, outstaffing, and HR services. Our client is an innovative product company in the crypto and fintech space, building scalable wallet services, real-time data platforms, and high-load trading systems using modern technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, Kafka, gRPC, WebSockets, and Docker. Quality, reliability, and system resilience are business-critical, and QA plays a strategic role, not a supporting one.
About the Role We are looking for a Lead Automation QA Engineer to take ownership of the QA automation strategy across a backend-heavy, real-time platform. In this role, you will act as a technical and quality leader—defining testing standards, shaping automation frameworks, and influencing engineering decisions early. You will work closely with backend developers, DevOps, and product to ensure quality is built into the system from design to production. This position is ideal for senior QA engineers who already think and act like leads, enjoy mentoring others, and want to have real impact on architecture, processes, and delivery, not just test execution.
Responsibilities Own and drive the overall QA and automation strategy across backend, API, and real-time systems Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks aligned with the existing Node.js / TypeScript backend ecosystem Define and enforce best practices for testing REST APIs, gRPC services, WebSockets, and event-driven flows (Kafka) Ensure quality and risk coverage for wallet services, trading functionality, and real-time data processing Act as a quality partner to backend engineers, frontend engineers, DevOps, and product during planning and design Establish standards for integration, system, and regression testing in microservices-based architectures Lead the integration and evolution of automated tests within CI/CD pipelines Analyze test and production issues, drive root-cause analysis, and prevent regressions Mentor and support other QA engineers, setting a high bar for quality and ownership Represent the QA perspective in technical and architectural discussions
Requirements Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Automation QA Engineer Strong background in backend and API testing within modern JavaScript / TypeScript ecosystems Hands-on experience testing systems built with Node.js Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, gRPC-based services, and asynchronous communication Experience testing event-driven architectures using messaging systems such as Kafka Practical experience validating WebSocket-based real-time systems Experience working with Docker and containerized environments Strong experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines Ability to assess risk, prioritize testing efforts, and make quality-driven decisions Leadership mindset with the ability to influence engineering teams without formal authority
Preferred Qualifications Experience testing systems deployed on AWS or other cloud platforms Good understanding of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) from a quality perspective Experience with test data management, environment orchestration, and tooling Strong understanding of microservices and distributed architectures Experience with Mocha, Chai, or similar frameworks Exposure to performance, load, reliability, or resilience testing Frontend automation experience (React / Next.js) is a plus, but not mandatory
Why Join Us? Competitive compensation based on experience and leadership scope Fully remote work with flexible working hours Key leadership role in a high-impact crypto and fintech product Strong engineering culture where QA has a real voice in decisions Opportunity to shape processes, tooling, and quality standards from the ground up Long-term growth in a rapidly expanding international company
If you are ready to own quality end-to-end, lead by example, and build automation for complex, real-time systems, we would love to hear from you.
