Summary As a Component Test Manager at Firefly, you will be a key member of the Flight and Test Operations team, responsible for operating and maintaining test stands at our Briggs, TX site and supporting launch operations at locations such as Vandenberg, CA. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in hands-on, fast-paced environments and are passionate about understanding the performance and reliability of aerospace components. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to develop and execute test plans, build and troubleshoot fluid systems, and ensure the readiness of test infrastructure. This position demands technical excellence, adaptability, and a proactive mindset to support Firefly’s mission of launching reliable rockets.
Responsibilities Set up and execute tests on aerospace components including valves, mechanisms, and COPVs. Develop and run test procedures for launch vehicle systems and subsystems. Operate test consoles using voice communication and data control systems. Validate and upgrade test stand systems to ensure operational readiness. Manage scheduling for test stand operations and maintenance. Troubleshoot issues during testing and support anomaly investigations. Design and implement automated scripts to support operations. Collaborate with site engineers to optimize test and launch systems. Identify and implement performance, reliability, and cost improvements. Ensure safe, timely, and professional execution of all operations. Analyze test data using numerical tools to validate hardware performance.
