Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Subsystem Test Engineer is a team player who will join the RTC (Real Time Controller) team to help drive testing activities for multiple GE Renewable Energy Grid products such as Relays, Controllers and Bay Control unit.
The role also contributes to improve the quality, security, test coverage and test automation of bay control unit.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform the configurations and testing (Manual and Automation both) of the various products (Protection Relays, Bay Controllers, Control Systems etc.) in our portfolio. Work closely with Development and product teams to find the root cause and analysis of any internal or external issue. Review Specification and writing Manual and Automated test cases based on them and execute them on different builds to enhance the build quality. Carry out investigation to resolve technical, hardware, software or performance problems linked to the system. Provides solutions to increase visualization, reduce occurrences of issue and improve customer experience. Detects and reports any issue/improvement immediately. Work on Agile User Stories outcome-based deliverables using Agile methodology and value streams. Be proactive and spawn temporary working groups for specific topics. Collaborate with peers in all Renewable Energy businesses around the globe.

Qualifications/Requirements
Work Experience
3+ years of relevant experience Automation, Python, Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Electrical Technology or Engineering More than qualifications below, what matters is mindset! Knowledge of Electrical Equipment e.g Relay, Controllers. Knowledge of communication protocols (IEC 60870-5-103 / 101/104, Modbus, DBP3, IEC61850). Knowledge of different Testing tools in power industry e.g. TMW, IED Scout, ASE, Omicron. Knowledge of Ethernet networks and the configuration of its constituent elements. Knowledge of Cybersecurity.
Knowledge of the operating system: Windows, Linux and RTOS, Strong advocate of testing best practices. Strong collaboration, leadership and influencing skills to drive transformation. Fluency in English essential (reading, written, spoken) to be able to hold a conversation (technical and non-technical) with customers and the various departments of the company.
