Role & seniority: Testing Technician, mid-level (3–5 years experience) reporting to the Team Lead, Application Engineering.
Stack/tools: Test benches/instrumentation; data acquisition systems; automated test scripts; LabVIEW; PLCs; Office 365/SharePoint/Zoom; documentation systems.
Set up, operate, maintain test benches and measurement equipment; conduct functional, environmental, performance, and reliability tests; record data and verify specifications.
Identify anomalies, perform basic diagnostics, support engineers with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Prepare detailed test reports, maintain calibration records, ensure compliance with procedures and safety protocols; collaborate with engineers, R&D, production, and QA.
Diploma/technical certificate in electronics, electrical/mechanical engineering, instrumentation, or related field.
3–5 years hands-on experience in electrical/mechanical testing environments; ability to read schematics/drawings/test plans.
Proficiency with test instruments, data acquisition basics, and automated test tools; experience with LabVIEW, DAQ systems, PLCs, or automated test scripts a plus.
Ability to work with high-voltage/high-power equipment (if relevant); strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills; effective communication.
The Testing Technician is responsible for conducting tests, measurements, and inspections on products, components, and systems to validate performance, reliability, and safety. This role supports application, engineering, R&D, and production teams by providing accurate test data, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Collaboration with internal and external partners is crucial to establish and prioritize short- and long-term goals, ensuring the provision of necessary expertise, skills, and services to accomplish these objectives.
Troubleshooting & Analysis Identify test anomalies, failures, or product defects. Perform basic diagnostic activities to determine root causes. Support engineers in developing corrective actions and retests.
Documentation & Reporting Prepare detailed test reports with measurements, observations, and results. Maintain clear records of setups, configurations, and calibration statuses. Follow test procedures, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
Equipment & Safety Ensure all test equipment is calibrated, in good condition, and used safely. Follow electrical, mechanical, and lab safety procedures. Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
Collaboration Work closely with engineers, production, R&D teams, and quality assurance. Provide feedback on test procedures and propose improvements. Support prototype builds, design verification, and validation testing.
