Proof of work The team We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our platform team, focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our Web3 and backend systems. The team builds and operates core infrastructure and user-facing applications that interact with blockchains, smart contracts, wallets, and off-chain services. Our goal is to deliver highly reliable, production-grade financial products in a fast-moving and highly regulated environment. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining automated test systems across backend services, smart-contract–adjacent flows, and Web3-enabled user interfaces. We are looking for someone with an extreme eye for detail, strong systems thinking, and a pragmatic “ship fast, but don’t ship broken” mindset. The opportunity Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites covering backend services, APIs, and event-driven systems Build and own end-to-end test automation for Web3 user flows, including wallet interactions, signing flows, approvals, and transaction lifecycle validation Automate browser-based UI tests involving wallet extensions (e.g. MetaMask) using tools such as Synpress, Playwright, or Cypress Validate blockchain-related workflows including deposits, withdrawals, mint/burn flows, bridges, and on-chain/off-chain reconciliation Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, blockchain, and DevOps engineers to embed testing deeply into the SDLC Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines with clear reporting, fast feedback, and high signal-to-noise Proactively identify edge cases, race conditions, and failure modes specific to distributed systems and blockchain environments Document test strategies, known risks, and quality gates, and help define release readiness criteria Skills you should HODL Strong experience with test automation in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
Proven experience testing backend systems: REST/GraphQL APIs, async workflows, message queues, and database state validation Hands-on experience with browser-based E2E testing frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress
Strong QA fundamentals: bug reporting, exploratory testing, risk-based testing, and test documentation A detail-oriented, skeptical mindset with a passion for breaking complex systems to make them robust Nice to haves Wallet extensions and programmatic wallet control (e.g. Synpress, custom MetaMask automation)
Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals (EVM and beyond): transactions, gas, events/logs, confirmations, reorgs Familiarity with tools such as Hardhat, Foundry, or Anvil for local blockchain testing Experience validating financial workflows, balances, and reconciliation logic Understanding of security, custody, and wallet safety considerations Personal or professional experience using crypto wallets, DeFi protocols, or trading platforms This job is accepting ongoing applications and there is no application deadline.
