The Senior Test Development Engineer/Designer is responsible for providing automated test solutions for electronics modules for product development, qualification and manufacturing. In this role you will advance your LabVIEW development skills as part of an industry leading research and development team. This position reports to the Research and Development (R&D) Manager and is part of the R&D department located in Concord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Design and validate functional tester concepts in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams. Develop LabVIEW-based automated test systems and user interfaces for Mass Spectrometry assemblies; integrate with electronic hardware and PXI instruments. Manage test development activities for new products, including planning, scheduling, supplier coordination, and Verification & Validation. Analyze failure and yield data, perform root cause analysis, and implement test improvements; prepare cost estimates and maintenance budgets. Lead and mentor junior team members, maintain standard work practices, and provide feedback on electronics module testability throughout development. The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with strong fundamentals. 5+ years of electrical test development experience using National Instruments LabVIEW, including signal analysis and processing. Hands-on PCBA testing and troubleshooting with proficiency in electronic test and measurement equipment. Experience with schematic capture tools (e.g., DX Designer), PC interfacing protocols (RS-232, USB, Ethernet, CAN/SPI), and mechanical packaging/integration. Knowledge of design-for-test/manufacturability principles for efficient production and quality assurance. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: LabVIEW certifications and experience integrating LabVIEW with other software (e.g., DLLs, Python). Proficiency in additional programming languages such as C/C++ and Python. Familiarity with FPGA and microcontroller (MCU) technologies. Experience with PCB layout tools and mechanical CAD software. Knowledge of RF systems and/or high-voltage circuit design and measurement techniques. The annual salary range for this role is $111,333 – 122,500 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
