Role & seniority: Senior Quality Engineer (experience-focused role in solid state transformer production)
Stack/tools: Quality Management System (ISO 9001); FMEA (Design & Process); DoE; SPC; statistical methods; Minitab/JMP; data mining; MySQL; cross-functional collaboration with design, supply chain, and manufacturing
Develop and implement the QMS to ISO9001; lead customer, regulatory, and compliance audits
Create manufacturing requirements, quality standards, and product quality plans; deploy requirements to subsystems and components
Lead FMEAs; manage root cause and corrective actions (tracking, validation, and facilitation of problem-solving)
5+ years in quality with electrical assemblies and/or power electronics
Strong design-for-quality, problem-solving, FMEA, DoE, hypothesis testing, SPC
Proficiency in statistical methods and software (Minitab/JMP); data mining and MySQL
Excellent written and oral communication; cross-functional collaboration
ASQ or Six Sigma certification
Experience applying lean methodologies and design for reliability
Prior exposure to regulatory inspections and supplier quality management

Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Sr. Quality Engineer to support solid state transformer production. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the Quality Management System to enable high quality products and commercialization. You will partner with design, supply chain and manufacturing to develop Amperesand’s quality processes, you will lead regulatory and customer audits to qualify Amperesand as a preferred supplier. The Quality Engineer is a professional problem solver, that can make good use of quality techniques to solve quality challenges and develop reliable processes that prevent creation of defects. The Sr. Quality Engineer will work on high quality products that meet the high reliability standards in the electrical grid equipment business.
Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options. Travel up to 15% of the time to suppliers and customers in the USA and overseas.
