  • Warranty/field: Coordinate part returns for supplier analysis, track supplier responses, summarize warranty data for reviews.

Must-have skills

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Quality, or technical field (or equivalent experience); 0–2 years in manufacturing/quality (internships OK).

  • Basic PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, GD&T knowledge.

  • Strong attention to detail; plant-floor readiness; effective internal and supplier communication.

Position: Supplier Quality Engineer I (SQE I)

About The Role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer I (Entry-Level), you will support the complete supplier quality process for motorcycle components—from new product introduction (NPI) through production and warranty. This hands-on role is designed for an early-career professional ready to contribute to part qualification, inspection readiness, and supplier communication within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll collaborate closely with plant teams, senior engineers, and suppliers to uphold Harley-Davidson’s quality and safety standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction (NPI) / Launch Phase

Support supplier PPAP preparation and track submission status Assist with capability studies and dimensional validations Collect and share supplier feedback during feasibility and design reviews Help establish inspection criteria based on CTQ (Critical to Quality) characteristics

Production / Sustaining Phase

Support incoming part inspection and first-pass yield tracking Investigate non-conformances and issue preliminary supplier notifications Coordinate containment activities for immediate quality issues Maintain supplier performance records and audit documents

Warranty / Field Feedback

Coordinate part returns for supplier analysis of early warranty claims Record and monitor supplier responses to field quality issues Assist in summarizing warranty data for internal team reviews

Qualifications (Required)

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a technical field; or equivalent relevant experience 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or quality (internships/co-ops accepted)

Basic understanding of: PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans & GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Strong attention to detail and willingness to work on the plant floor Comfortable communicating with internal and supplier contacts Ability to travel up to 50% (supplier visits and audits) Additional Information
