Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Cable Test Technician Co-Op to join our team at our Electronics Manufacturing Facility this Winter. The successful candidate will support different programs ranging from commercial customers to DoD customers. The technician is responsible for supporting the build process for cable assemblies. Primary Responsibilities Candidates will be required to have knowledge of the tools used for cable assembly (crimpers, strippers, insertion) and the proper techniques required to use these tools. Basic experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation. Candidate must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly. Basic Qualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a technical degree Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during the cable assembly process. Knowledge of assembly and inspection requirements for Micro-D solder cups in cable assemblies. Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space addendum. Current or prior certification in J-STD-001. Working knowledge of Fluke digital multimeters.
