Role & seniority: Senior/Lead AI & Data Risk Governance Specialist (5–7 years in data science, AI, or governance) within Group Risk Management.
Stack/tools: Veritas assessment framework and templates; FEAT (Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, Transparency); AI/data governance guidelines; data model inventory; cross-border data-sharing processes.
Validate high-risk AI models against FEAT principles using Veritas methodology and related templates.
Inventory AI models, coordinate with model owners, review parameters, and challenge inventory data.
Support FEAT compliance attestation, develop/maintain governance guidelines, and promote governance education and adoption.
University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
5–7 years in data science/AI, AI governance, or related areas; strong knowledge of data/AI governance in financial services.

Job Description UOB’s AI & Data Risk Governance & Control is a centralized function under Group Risk Management dedicated to set out a Line 2 operating capability to oversee enterprise-wide AI and data risks with a mandate to ensure AI models, systems and processes in the Bank are secure, fair, explainable, and well-governed throughout their lifecycle. Role Overview This role supports activities to manage AI and data related risks across the organization effectively and responsibly. You will play a key role in performing FEAT (Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, Transparency) Validation, as well as operationalization of data and AI governance across the Bank. This role will support the enforcement of FEAT and broader AI governance standards for high-risk use cases, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, resilience, and ethical conduct in alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices Key Responsibilities Perform the assessment and validation of high-risk AI models leveraging Veritas (framework developed under regulatory and industry collaboration to help financial institutions assess AI models against FEAT principles) Assessment Methodology, including utilization of related Veritas templates and toolkits Conduct the inventorisation of AI models within the Bank, involving co-ordination with model owners, collating AI model parameters and independently challenging and reviewing the inventory information Review the Business/Support Unit’s self-attestation on FEAT compliance for the models they own Support the development and maintenance of FEAT related guidelines and procedures Support the operationalization activities of Data Governance e.g. cross border data-sharing etc Promote education and develop training, awareness and adoption program of AI and Data Governance disciplines and objectives across the Group Education Requirements University graduate preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, or related disciplines Certifications or academic background in AI ethics/responsible AI, AI governance, model risk management, data privacy (e.g., PDPA) and ethics, and/or data governance Job Requirements Minimum 5–7 years of experience in data science, statistics, AI or responsible AI, AI & data governance, or related fields, preferably in banking or financial services Extensive knowledge and understanding of Data & AI Governance discipline, especially on financial industry best practices and across the regulatory landscape Awareness of MAS FEAT principles, Veritas Assessment Methodology and interest in Responsible and ethical AI practices Ethics, legal, compliance, audit, model validation experience is a plus Good project management and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage different stakeholders across the Bank and to navigate through conflicts with ease Demonstrated ability as team player and running initiatives independently Good written / oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills Additional Requirements Develop, Engage, Execute, Strategise Be a Part of the UOB Family UOB is an equal opportunity employer.
