Salary: $77,843 - $86,358 / year
Role & seniority: Software Test Engineer (Airborne Systems); entry to mid-level focus, within a cross-functional team.
Stack/tools: C, C++, Python, Rust (test automation); Linux; scripting; HW/SW integration; automated testing and test-automation tools.
Design and execute requirements-based test cases to validate airborne systems (airborne computers, crypto products, weapon control interfaces).
Conduct automated testing, system-level validation, and debugging in test environments; collaborate to improve software quality and reliability.
Analyze requirements and collaborate with team to ensure proper test coverage and integration across subsystems.
Programming in C/C++, Python; familiarity with Rust for test automation
Experience with automated testing, system-level validation, debugging
Linux proficiency, scripting, and HW/SW integration knowledge
Strong understanding of testing principles and requirement-based testing
Agile experience
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
Security clearance: Department of Defense Secret preferred at hire; U.S. citizenship required
Location & work type: On-site at GDMS Bloomington, MN; potential 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off) if desired; eligible for location-based pay considerations.
Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Agile experience preferred.

Responsibilities For This Position
As a Software Test Engineer for Airborne Systems, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit, to crypto products for identifying friendly aircraft, and weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons, we work to ensure the world's most advanced aircraft maintain air superiority and information dominance.
Programming experience: C, C++, Python, and Rust in the context of test automation.
Testing experience: Automated testing, system-level validation, and debugging in test environments.
Technical knowledge: Linux, scripting, and understanding of HW/SW integration.
A strong understanding of testing principles and methodologies, with a focus on requirements-based testing. Ability to analyze requirements and design comprehensive test cases to validate them. Experience with test automation and tools to improve software quality and reliability. Creative thinker with a collaborative mindset who thrives in team-oriented environments.

Target salary range: USD $77,843.00/Yr. - USD $86,358.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
