Job Description
We are looking for an experienced product Sr validation engineer to join the GaN Business Division in Power Product Group. The successful candidate will work on a range of exciting new products such as GaN power stages, gate driver and motor drivers for next generation of infrastructure, industrial, consumer, and automotive applications. This is an early-stage growth opportunity where in the candidate will get to learn, build contribute and influence the charter for Renesas’s massive power product portfolio.
Essential Functions
Drive the product validation for GaN power stages, gate drivers portfolio for infrastructure, industrial, consumer, and automotive applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. Make validation plan based on product spec and track its progress. Build validation board and automated IC characterization program set of the product. Execute Lab evaluation during product development phase, including sophisticated reports to pass the gating reviews. Analyse the correlation of Lab evaluation result and ATE test result. Support each other with Test engineer to ensure the correct product validation. Drill down the root cause of errata or failure of the product during development phase and lead to solve it with circuit designers, system architect and related department. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product definition, applications and design) to appeal customers for Renesas product adoption. Create validation documentation such as product compliance matrix (Lab results summary), characterization summary, customer request lab results to support product development and promotion
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field. 2–5 years of experience in product validation within the semiconductor industry. Python programming skill for automated lab evaluation English communication skill to work with global team
Preferred
Strong understanding of power electronics (GaN power stages, gate drivers and motor control). Proven experience in product validation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level messaging and presentations. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, cross-functional environment. Business acumen with the ability to balance technical depth and market insight. Familiarity with automotive, industrial, or consumer market technical trends. Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
