Position Description Summary

APT Research is hiring multiple Principal Quality Engineers in Greenbelt, Maryland to work at the Goddard Space Flight Center.

Responsibilities

Performs and delegates task assignments, assigns and monitors task performance, and assists in preparing and making customer presentations. Responsible for properly identifying customer problems and issues, researching program requirements, and determining the most effective solution given technical qualifications and contractual requirements. Provides leadership and works independently with the customer. Establishes long-range objectives and technical leadership of Quality Assurance (QA) efforts for NASA projects. Maintains overall knowledge of NASA QA guidelines and ensures customer satisfaction by responding to customer requirements encompassing internal standards and policies. Interacts regularly with customer representatives concerning work in progress.

Required Experience/Education

Education: Must possess a Bachelor's/Master's Degree in an appropriate field of Engineering, Mathematics, or Physical Science

Experience: 17-20+ years of relevant experience

Security Clearance Requirement

Must be able to qualify for an unescorted badge (US Citizen required) and be able to pass a background investigation & drug test.

Essential Job Functions

Work Environment

Office environment, processing KSC flight hardware, launch equipment, ground support systems and testing facilities. Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers.

Travel Requirements

Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.)

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for periods of time at a workstation/ desk and / work in operational processing areas. Ability to lift >15 lbs.
