Salary: $32 - $50 / hour
Role & seniority: Test Specialist – Hardware-in-the-Loop, Satellites (Starlink); multiple levels (Level 1–3) based on experience.
Stack/tools: Hardware-in-the-loop test equipment; servers; network racks; Linux environment; Python (real-world apps); basic networking (VLANs, namespaces, routing); RF components; cable harness fabrication (crimping, soldering, connectors); technical docs and schematics.
Ensure satellite development test systems and areas are operating properly; perform first-level electrical/mechanical diagnostics and data review.
Build, update, repair, and validate HITL test equipment, servers, and network racks; fabricate/repair cable harnesses.
Develop/document procedures for execution, maintenance, assembly, and anomaly handling; maintain organized, safe work environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; 2+ years in hands-on manufacturing or a engineering/technical degree.
Practical electro-mechanical skills; Linux experience; debugging and unit testing; strong technical documentation skills; good communication.
Bachelor’s in engineering; Python software developed for real-world use; networking and RF familiarity; problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
Location & work type: Redmond, WA area; on-site with shift flexibility; overtime and weekend work as needed; willingness to lift up to 25 lbs. ITAR/compliance requirements apply.

Test Specialist/Level 1: $32.00 - $40.00/hour
Test Specialist/Level 2: $36.00 - $45.00/hour
Test Specialist/Level 3: $40.00 - $50.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
