Halcyon is the industry’s first dedicated, adaptive security platform that combines multiple proprietary advanced prevention engines along with AI models focused specifically on stopping ransomware.

Who We Are

Halcyon was formed in 2021 by a team of cyber industry veterans after battling the scourge of ransomware (and advanced threats) for years at some of the largest global security vendors. Comprised of leaders from Cylance (now Blackberry), Accuvant (now Optiv), Fireye and ISS X-Force (now IBM), Halcyon is focused on building products and solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.

The Role

Halcyon’s goal is to deliver an anti-ransomware solution that breaks new ground as to what a security product can deliver. Aligned with this goal, Halcyon is looking for an experienced engineer to contribute to our quality assurance practices, ensuring that Halcyon’s code maintains a high-quality standard. The high-quality code will ensure Halcyon’s product functions properly across all scenarios, helping protect customers from ransomware threats.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and contribute to validation testing of new product features and bug fixes Document and develop automated tests aligned to the features we’re developing and bug reports Design, document, and develop tools to assist with testing Contribute to and follow our Coding Style guidelines Able to deliver quality results working autonomously and as part of a unit Technical documentation of test plans, automation implementation architectures, and test reports Be a part of the company culture’s growth

Skills And Qualifications

Ability to develop in Python using the Pytest framework Test design creativity Understanding and experience with communications channels such as RESTful API and gRPC Ability to troubleshoot Windows applications using tools such as debuggers, system profilers, and process monitors Knowledge and experience using virtualization tools such as VMWare Familiarity with SQL Experience testing Windows endpoint agent applications Experience testing Linux endpoint agent applications Good written and verbal communication with an ability to write technical documentation Fast-paced startup, past work experience

Bonus Skills And Qualifications

Past work experience in testing and delivering an enterprise-level security product Experience with macOS virtualization and testing Knowledge of the Windows Security Model Knowledge of the Linux Security Model Knowledge of the MacOS Security Model

Knowledge of additional languages: Rust, C++ Experience with Windows performance testing and benchmarking Familiarity with the AWS Cloud Background using GitHub for CI/CD purposes
