As a QA Engineer with 2–3 years of experience, you will be a core member of an Agile development team, responsible for the end-to-end quality of our features. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a passion for finding critical defects, and the ability to work closely with Product and Development teams. Crucially, you will be expected to quickly learn and contribute to test automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze product requirements and user stories to develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual test cases and test scenarios. Perform thorough Functional, System, Integration, and Regression testing on our web and mobile applications. Conduct Exploratory Testing to identify unexpected defects and usability issues, simulating real-world user behavior.
Execute existing automation test suites and analyze results to identify failures that require debugging or defect reporting. Assist in the creation and maintenance of basic automation scripts for regression tests under the guidance of Senior SDETs.
Identify, document, and meticulously track defects (bugs) using our bug tracking system (JIRA or equivalent). Collaborate with developers to reproduce and validate fixes in a timely manner.
Perform basic API testing using tools like Postman to validate data inputs and outputs between services. Write and execute simple SQL queries to perform back-end data validation and check database integrity. Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies.
As QA Engineer primary work responsibilities is focused towards release activities from the date of joining till experienced enough to handle automation and manual in parallel. Ideally will be working on functional testing for at least 8-12months after onboarding.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 2 to 3 years of dedicated experience in manual software testing.
Methodology: Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), particularly within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Demonstrated willingness and capacity to learn a scripting language quickly (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java). Basic familiarity with Test Automation concepts and their importance in a CI/CD pipeline.
Working knowledge of SQL for database queries. Proficiency with API testing concepts and tools like Postman.
Proficiency with at least one Bug Tracking/Defect Management tool (e.g., JIRA).
Exceptional attention to detail, proactive approach to quality, and excellent written and verbal communication.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)
Direct exposure to test automation framework tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Familiarity with Git for version control. Experience in using CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) to trigger and monitor automated tests. Experience testing on both Web and Mobile platforms.
