Role Overview

• We are looking for a Senior SDET / Quality Engineer who will act as the quality representative for the product, involved from early discussions through release. This role requires strong analytical thinking, ownership of quality strategy, and clear communication across teams.
• The person will be responsible for defining, executing, and improving the overall testing approach for the product, while also leading and mentoring a small QA team.

Key Responsibilities Act as the single point of ownership for product quality, representing QA in requirement discussions, design reviews, and planning sessions. Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to understand requirements early and identify risks, gaps, and edge cases. Define, own, and evolve the overall testing strategy, covering manual testing, automation, regression, and release readiness. Perform hands-on manual testing, including exploratory, functional, regression, and edge-case testing. Design, develop, and maintain test automation using modern JavaScript-based frameworks. Design automation frameworks from scratch or significantly improve existing ones, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability. Ensure API, backend, and integration testing are adequately covered, not just UI flows. Review feature implementations from a quality and user-journey perspective, not just acceptance criteria. Clearly document test scenarios, test plans, defects, and quality metrics in a structured and understandable manner. Participate in release sign-offs and production readiness checks. Lead the QA function for the product, acting as the QA representative and managing one or two QA engineers as the team scales. Continuously improve testing processes, tooling, and best practices across the product.

Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of experience in QA, SDET, or Quality Engineering roles. Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex flows and identify edge cases. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Solid experience in manual testing for complex web applications. Strong experience in test automation using JavaScript-based tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar. Proven experience designing automation frameworks or significantly improving existing frameworks. Good understanding of modern web stacks (React, Next.js, Node.js preferred). Experience with API testing tools and concepts. Comfortable reading and understanding application code to design better tests. Experience working in agile teams and participating in sprint ceremonies. Ability to balance speed with quality and make pragmatic testing decisions.
