SDET Engineer (IoT Automation Specialist)

Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on

Job Location: Ahmedabad

Key Responsibilities

Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable automated test frameworks and scripts for embedded, firmware, hardware, and API testing.

Quality Assurance: Strong understanding of SDLC. STLC. Participate in design and code reviews, execute test analysis, and generate detailed metrics and reports to actively track quality and drive issue resolution with development teams.

Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, Product Management, QA) to integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring continuous testing from the design phase.

Documentation: Create and maintain precise test plans, test cases, and test reports. Skills & Competencies

Must Have Skills

Automation Framework Expertise: Hands-on experience in building custom test automation frameworks from the ground up, specifically utilizing Python-based development.

Programming: Expertise Python for test development and scripting.

Testing Fundamentals: Strong grasp of Test Methodologies, STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle), Bug Life Cycle, and various Black Box Testing techniques.

Tools: Hands-on experience with Test Management Tools (e.g., TestRail, HP ALM) and direct experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines and working within DevOps environments.

IoT Knowledge: Experience with serial communication libraries, critical IoT technologies and platforms

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Direct experience with embedded firmware and hardware testing, including the use of debugging tools and network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ixia, or Spirent).

  • Understanding of various communication protocols, i.e. WIFI, Zigbee, BLE, Thread.

  • Experience with performance testing methodologies and tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

  • Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) / Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and tools (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow).
