The Position

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (JSE V&V)-Junior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background

The Analysis, Debrief, and Test (ADT) Branch supports the development, integration, and testing of the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Technical Baseline (JTB) product suite and virtual platforms that integrate with the environment. The software products comprising the JTB support modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed.

A typical day as a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (JSE V&V)-Junior may include

Tests software for an advanced synthetic training environment Integrates software into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats Supports software development/integration, testing, customer training and demonstrations Installs/Runs regression tests on a new NGTS test build (multiple builds weekly) Tests a variety of Jira issues (new feature implementation, bug fixes, database queries, etc.) Documents test results and discovered issues in Jira Collaborates with NGTS software developers and subject matter experts during training sessions Creates new test procedure documents to validate new requirements Communicates access across a large team to verify correct procedures and software issue diagnosis Runs extensive regression tests when software reaches Release Candidate (RC) phase

Must-haves

BS Degree/BA Degree in technical discipline OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience The ability to learn how to operate multiple stations that support the Joint Simulation Environment Experience performing system tests to identify software or hardware deficiencies to verify compliance with system requirements Experience documenting software defects and requirement compliance Experience reporting defects to developers The ability to support a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and evening testing (approximately once per month, subject to mission needs)-Schedule changes will be communicated with at least one (1) week’s advance notice whenever possible The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Special Access Program (SAP) Access The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance

Physical Environment And Working Conditions

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in the field for a majority of their day (lab facilities), on site versus in an office. The physical environment may require the employee to work in an office at times, looking at a computer for part of the day.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required

The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
