The Test Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting Test Program Set (TPS) development and validation activities. This involves building, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic and electromechanical test equipment and systems. The role requires the application of electronics principles, electrical circuitry, and test methods to verify products in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain electronic and electromechanical test equipment and systems. Troubleshoot, repair, and modify test equipment to ensure optimal operation. Apply principles of electronics and electrical circuitry to support product verification. Read and interpret schematics, drawings, layouts, and technical documentation. Use test and diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes and signal generators, for equipment testing. Perform preventive maintenance on test fixtures, cables, thermal chambers, and vibration systems. Conduct electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting on non-functioning test equipment.
Essential Skills
Associate’s degree in Electronics Technology or a related field, or equivalent electronics military schooling. 2–4 years of direct experience in testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electronic test equipment. Strong analog, digital, and mixed-signal troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in reading schematics, drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
