Job Title: QA Engineer

Location: Remote

Role Summary

Conducts end-to-end manual testing of streaming applications (VOD, Live TV) on physical devices (Smart TVs, STBs, Mobiles) to ensure high-quality playback, UI, and performance. Validate firmware/app updates, debug network logs (Charles/Fiddler), and collaborate with local developers to resolve issues. Able to build Automation Scripts using Python and Open source for OTT domain.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Device Testing: Perform hands-on testing on Android TV, Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Xbox, Fire TV, ROKU, and mobile devices.

Streaming & Content Validation: Test Adaptive Bitrate (ABR) streaming, Live TV, Video on Demand (VOD), and EPG (Electronic Program Guide) functionality.

Debugging & Technical Analysis: Analyse network logs using tools like Charles Proxy, Fiddler, or browser developer tools to diagnose buffering, playback, or API failures.

Defect Management: Create detailed test plans, execute test cases, log detailed defects with logs/videos, and track them to closure.

Firmware & App Testing: Validate OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and app performance across various network conditions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 5 6 years in OTT/Media domain testing. interaction with clients and product teams for requirement gathering.

Protocol Knowledge: Familiarity with HLS, DASH, and DRM (Widevine / FairPlay).

Tools: Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira), debugging tools, scripting with Python, and automation tools (Appium/Selenium).

Environment: Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals and Android OS architecture.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for onsite stakeholder Show more Show less
