Position Description

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge St, Toronto) at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineering Specialist with hands-on experience in Charles River (CRD) and SimCorp Dimension (SCD) to join our Wealth Management QE team. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain knowledge across front, middle, or back-office investment workflows and a proven track record in delivering high-quality testing outcomes for complex financial applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for Charles River and SimCorp implementations, enhancements, and integrations. Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing across investment management workflows (order management, compliance, portfolios, performance, accounting, settlements, etc.). Validate data flows between Charles River, SimCorp, and upstream/downstream systems (trading platforms, risk engines, accounting systems, market data sources). Perform API testing, SQL-based data validation, and report validation for trade, position, and reference data. Collaborate with business SMEs, product owners, developers, and vendor teams to analyze requirements, identify gaps, and ensure solution quality. Log and track defects, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution. Participate in automation efforts where applicable (e.g., regression automation, data validation scripts). Support UAT planning and execution, providing guidance to business testers. Maintain testing documentation aligned with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Charles River (CRD) and/or SimCorp Dimension (SCD). Strong understanding of investment management workflows (front-, middle-, back-office). Proficiency in SQL for data validation and experience with API testing. Familiarity with integration testing across multiple financial systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with test automation tools and scripting for regression testing. Knowledge of financial instruments, trade lifecycle, and portfolio accounting. Exposure to governance and regulatory compliance in financial services.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
