MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented LAN System Integration & Testing Technician to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will provide reliable, high-quality LAN systems integration and network support by installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring secure, efficient, and uninterrupted operations while delivering responsive technical support to customers and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Troubleshoot, install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and related network hardware. Provide technical expertise in managing public and/or private networks, including testing and analysis of network control software, servers, and transmission facilities. Install, support, and maintain LAN/WAN environments; evaluate and recommend network hardware and software upgrades. Perform technical analyses of software, hardware, and network performance using diagnostic and monitoring tools to ensure efficient operations. Monitor data traffic and control network resources to maintain high-quality, reliable network performance. Diagnose and resolve complex network, system, and PC hardware/software issues while exercising sound judgment and supporting customer, operational, and project activities across teams. Local travel may be required between customer buildings or temporary assignment to an alternate location in support of special projects.
Member of a team comprised of a variety of skills that provide coverage from 6: 00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; may need to work extended hours during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma with 13+ years of experience, Associates Degree with 11+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of experience. Demonstrated hands-on experience troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network equipment (Cisco routers, switches, firewalls). Experience supporting LAN/WAN environments, including network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimization. Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex network, hardware, and software issues in a fast-paced operational environment. Able to work independently with limited supervision while managing, prioritizing, and executing multiple concurrent projects, and effectively diagnosing and resolving network issues in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to build and maintain constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors across the customer base.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or higher), or other relevant industry-recognized IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+). Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting customers and collaborating across technical teams Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to provide solutions and work with customer in providing resolution. Self-starter and work with a clear and defined mission.
Security Clearance Requirements
Current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain stationary for at least 50% of the time. Ability to operate computers, phones, and standard office equipment for extended periods. Ability to move between offices and buildings, including under desks, raised floors, and server closets, some of which may be confined spaces. Ability to lift and move IT or AV equipment weighing 50+ pounds, using carts or team lifts as needed. Must be able to ascend/descend ladders (10+ feet) while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
