Must-have skills

Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
2–5 years in cybersecurity or penetration testing (academic projects count)
Basic–to–intermediate pentesting methodologies and tools
Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI)

Role: Automotive Junior Penetration Tester

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden

Role Overview

As an Automotive Junior Penetration Tester, you will support security testing across vehicle ECUs, communication buses, telematics, connected services, and embedded systems. You will work closely with senior testers, developers, and product owners to identify and help remediate vulnerabilities across hardware-software interfaces, network protocols, and mobile/ cloud integrations.
You will be expected to contribute to planned pentests, assist in day-to-day security assessments, learn automotive-specific attack techniques, and support documentation and reporting of findings.
This role is ideal for an early-career professional with foundational penetration testing knowledge and a strong desire to specialize in automotive security.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and conducting penetration tests on automotive systems, including but not limited to

Vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet)
Embedded ECUs and firmware interfaces
Telematics, infotainment, and connected services
Mobile applications and backend APIs related to automotive platforms
Execute hands-on security testing using standard tools and custom testbeds
Perform vulnerability discovery and exploitation under guidance
Analyze and reverse-engineer firmware and software components
Document and communicate findings clearly with technical and non-technical teams
Support remediation recommendations and work with engineering teams to improve security controls
Assist in creating test cases, checklists, and automated testing scripts
Stay updated with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and automotive security standards
