Role & seniority: Entry-Level Systems Test Engineer (Entry level) – full-time, onsite in Detroit Metro area; long-term engagement on Akkodis HiL Engineering Lab team. Salary: up to $70,000/yr depending on experience/education.
Stack/tools: Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test benches; CANalyzer, CANoe; dSPACE; MATLAB/Simulink; HiL simulation platforms; basic scripting/programming (Python, MATLAB, C++) a plus.
Set up, configure, and maintain HiL test benches for vehicle system validation (ADAS, powertrain, chassis).
Design, integrate, troubleshoot HiL systems; conduct system-level testing and analyze CAN messages; verify software integration.
Collaborate with automation teams, feature owners, and test engineers to execute test cases, document issues, and support data analysis/reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
Knowledge of automotive systems, embedded software, and control systems.
Familiarity with CAN protocols and diagnostic tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe).
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork; willingness to learn.
Exposure to HiL simulations and tools (dSPACE, NI VeriStand, Vector tools).
Basic programming/scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, or C++).
Location & work type: Detroit Metro area, onsite. Full-time, long-term position supporting a major domestic OEM.
Due to recent expansion, Akkodis is seeking several motivated Entry-Level Systems Test Engineers to join our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) Engineering Lab on our dedicated team for the next several years while supporting a major domestic vehicle manufacturer in the Detroit Metro area. This role is ideal for recent graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in automotive testing and validation, working with cutting-edge ADAS, powertrain, and vehicle control systems.
As a HiL System Test Engineer, you'll contribute to test setups, system integration, automation, and validation of complex automotive components using industry-standard tools. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, testers, and feature owners, to ensure quality and performance.
Startling Pay Range: Up to $70,000/yr (salary commensurate based on experience and education levels).
