Role & seniority: Game Localization QA Tester (entry-level, fixed-term contract)
Stack/tools: Manual game testing; write bug reports; execute test cases/checklists; test across platforms; basic MS Office; familiarity with bug trackers (e.g., JIRA, Mantis, ADO, Bugzilla) and CAT tools (beneficial)

This position is on a fixed-term contract. As a mandatory requirement, you must have the right to work in Tokyo. You will be required to provide supporting documentation. This is an onsite position. You are required to work onsite during core business hours (Mon – Fri, 8 hours per day) at our office in Tokyo. So you shall be based in the Tokyo area or you are within commuting distance to our office.
The Game Localization QA Tester will work as part of a game testing team to identify and fix issues affecting the localization of the game by making text changes, writing detailed bug reports, performing
regression testing, etc. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and linguistic quality of localized content by performing manual testing across various gaming platforms.
Identify, isolate, document and fix any localization / linguistic issues and verify fixes by using test tools or databases. Follow and complete Test Cases / Checklists to perform targeted testing and execute relevant testing processes and procedures. Write bug descriptions based on company standards and client specifications. Apply knowledge of user preferences in Target Market to influence the client’s product. Proactively look for gaps in test coverage. Collaborate with partner teams in testing the product. Offer constructive feedback on gameplay, fun factor, and game balance based on knowledge of target market. Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role.
A regular game player and passion for the video games industry. Native level of Korean (testing language), including excellent spelling and grammar. Good command of the English language (instructions, testing documentation, team communications will all be in English) A high school diploma or equivalent is required (a degree in computer science, game design, or a related field is a strong plus). Excellent attention to detail, “can-do” attitude, as well as great work ethics. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills Ability to multitask, prioritize to meet deadlines. Basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite. Understanding of digital technologies (mobile, tablets, browser tools, etc.). The ability to work well in a team environment. The drive, positive attitude and ability to thrive and deliver in a fast-paced, innovative and creative environment.
Availability to start immediately. Game Testing experience. Experience with software localization or quality assurance, or in a similar role in the Video Games or related industry will be an advantage. Familiarity with different testing methodologies. Experience with game localization.
Familiarity with bug tracking systems (e.g.: JIRA, Mantis, ADO, Bugzilla, etc.) or CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, etc.).
