About the Company
Jotron is currently undergoing an exciting development within the maritime market. The recent acquisition of SKIPPER Electronics AS, now Jotron SKIPPER AS, a leading supplier of IMO Wheel mark echo sounders and speed logs for navigation, has significantly expanded our range of maritime products. In recent years, we have substantially strengthened our market position and are regarded as a global leader in our maritime product portfolio. We are experiencing increasing demand for our products and are therefore seeking a new colleague for our office in Ryen, Oslo.
About the Role This position involves the design and testing of acoustic and electromagnetic speed and depth measurement systems, along with other mission-critical sensors that form part of vessel situation awareness systems supporting decision-making in the navigation of some of the world’s largest and most complex ships. The work is carried out in close collaboration with embedded and sensor engineers, focusing primarily on digital systems to deliver accurate, reliable, and robust solutions for data and digital communication, while also contributing to analog design. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of developing stable and reliable modular designs, with a solid understanding of how to implement and verify them. An active interest in the broader system context is essential, including how designs are integrated and applied in modern bridge systems on vessels worldwide. This role is part of a dedicated and collaborative team that values innovation, quality, and long-term reliability.
Responsibilities Design, implement, and test digital and analog electronic circuits for maritime sensors and navigation systems. Contributes to the development of acoustic and electromagnetic measurement technologies. Collaborate with embedded software and mechanical engineers to ensure complete system integration. Support ongoing development of modular and scalable solutions. Participate in verification, validation, and documentation processes. Engage in system-level understanding to enhance integration in modern maritime bridge systems.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics or a related discipline. Relevant proven electronic diagnostic experience will also be considered. Minimum 3–5 years relevant experience. Experience with Altium, Orcad, or similar electronic design tools. Fluent in English and Norwegian or willing to learn Norwegian.
