The Automation Engineer designs, develops, and implements automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency, reliability, and performance. This role requires strong knowledge of production operations, automation, and control systems, with a focus on process optimization and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Design and implement automation systems for manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and improvement opportunities. Develop, test, and maintain software for automation and control systems. Analyze and troubleshoot issues in automated equipment and systems. Perform regular maintenance and inspections of automation equipment. Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance personnel. Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Manage and document automation-related projects and activities. Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings through automation. Stay updated on the latest automation technologies, tools, and industry trends.
Qualifications
Graduate of a technology-related course or college degree holder. Certificates from PLC seminars and related technical trainings. Preferably at least 5 years of manufacturing experience with hands-on involvement in repairs, maintenance, and machine improvement. Proficient in PLC and HMI programming. Industrial Electrician training or equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Able to use diagnostic and testing tools. Knowledge of VFDs, servo motors, and electric actuators. Basic knowledge of electro-pneumatics. Ability to read and create ladder diagrams and wiring diagrams.
