The mission of Speechify is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn whatever they’re reading – PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites – into audio, so they can read faster, read more, and remember more. Speechify’s text-to-speech reading products include its iOS app, Android App, Mac App, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Google recently named Speechify the Chrome Extension of the Year and Apple named Speechify its App of the Day. Today, nearly 200 people around the globe work on Speechify in a 100% distributed setting – Speechify has no office. These include frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and others from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, leading PhD programs like Stanford, high growth startups like Stripe, Vercel, Bolt, and many founders of their own companies. Work ethic, solid communication skills, and obsession with winning are paramount. Our interview process involves several technical interviews and we aim to complete them within 1 week. What You’ll Do Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for the Speechify iOS app, ensuring comprehensive coverage for both manual and automated testing. Collaborate with the development team to identify, reproduce, and document issues and defects in the iOS app. Utilize and maintain automation tools and frameworks for iOS, such as Appium, to increase efficiency and reduce manual testing efforts. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in iOS testing and automation. Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test summaries, ensuring they are clear, concise, and up-to-date. Communicate testing results, progress, and issues to project stakeholders, including developers, product managers, and customer support teams. Participate in agile development processes, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives. Continuously identify opportunities for process and tool improvements, and work with the team to implement these enhancements. An ideal candidate should have

B. S. in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent experience

• 3+ years of experience in QA engineering, with a focus on iOS testing
• Strong understanding of iOS app development and testing processes, including familiarity with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and the App Store submission process.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, such as Bitrise, CircleCI.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with text-to-speech technologies.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing and guidelines, such as WCAG.
