About the role

  • As a Quality Engineer II, Codes & Standards, you will support others in a variety of quality assurance duties to ensure Westinghouse ASME Section III Items meet the Westinghouse ASME III Quality Assurance Program (WCAP-12308) and ASME Section III Code requirements.

You will report to the Codes & Standards Program Manager and be located at the Cranberry Township, PA headquarters. You will be a Hybrid employee.

Key Responsibilities

Support administration of the ASME Section III Quality Assurance Program for existing accredited locations under our Certificates of Authorization.

Develop into an ASME Section III Quality Assurance subject matter expert.

Become a primary contact with the Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI).

Maintain Westinghouse ASME Section III Code Program (WCAP-12308) manual where

Support manual (and supporting procedure) updates.

Assure the manual meets the organizations' process needs and reflects organizational changes.

Assure Level 2 implementing procedures meet ASME Section III Code and Westinghouse Code Program requirements.

Assure activities affecting quality are performed in accordance with the Westinghouse Code Program.

Support (aligned with experience) ASME Section III Code Projects by

Coach employees regarding ASME Code applications (e.g., Data Reports and Certified Material Test Reports (CMTRs)) and compliance for Westinghouse projects.

Assure that quality commitments and schedule aligns with customer needs and expectations.

Assure all Section III Code and Westinghouse Code Program requirements have been met prior to Code Certification (Stamping) Section III Components including National Board Registration.

Follow-up on Westinghouse Code Program corrective actions, evaluate responses and ensure objective evidence substantiates closure.

Complete delegated authority (aligned with experience) of the Codes & Standards Program Manager (CSPM) when the CSPM is not available.

Support preparation efforts and host ASME Section III Code surveys, Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) Audits and internal (audits) assessments of the Westinghouse Code Program, including new locations.

Assure required responses to all ASME Section III Code findings are correct, complete, submitted and closed on time.

Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline or related technical field.

3+ years of progressively more responsible and varied assignments in quality assurance/project management and quality assurance programs.

3+ years practical experience working with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code or ASME NQA-1.

Relevant experience using ASME Section V, Nondestrictove Examination and Section IX, Welding, Brazing, and Fusing Qualifications.

Demonstrated experience working with customers, suppliers, regulators (e.g. U.S. NRC) and technical groups.

Relevant experience and application with US NRC Regulations such as 10CFR 50.55, 10CFR50 Appendix B, and 10CFR21.

Relevant experience in nuclear construction or nuclear fabrication quality assurance/project management (or equivalent) of large, complex engineering, procurement, and fabrication/construction projects.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $69,200 to $86,500 per year.
