Key Responsibilities
As a Controls Engineer, you will support controls and automation projects across a variety of industries. Programming of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for continuous, discrete and batch processes. Industrial network specification and design (Ethernet, Modbus, IO-Link, etc.). Collaboration with other disciplines (Process Design, Electrical Design) to identify control system specifications. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other process design documentation to assist in control system specifications. Generate and maintain necessary documentation, including I/O Lists, Process Narratives, Functional Design Specifications, Commissioning Forms, etc., dependent upon customer requirements. Provide commissioning and startup services. Travel up to 25% is typical, but varies by project requirements. Electrical troubleshooting and ability to commission and configure a wide range of control equipment (VFDs, transmitters, etc.). Assist in control panel design and equipment specification, ensuring compliance with applicable codes (NEC, UL508A) and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
1-2 years in an industrial controls (end-user or OEM), or system integration/consulting role as a controls engineer.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities with a focus on relationship management. Strong technical writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
