Job Scope
The Quality Assurance Technician 1 (QAT) inspects semi-finished/finished materials and products, purchased, or manufactured, to the required drawing or print specification, inspection plan or another controlling document.
First Shift: Monday through Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm
Responsibilities
Tests, inspects, or measures products, materials, and/or processes to evaluate conformance with specifications. Completes required documentation and other quality or manufacturing data with accuracy and completeness. Inspect, process and disposition incoming finished goods inventory. Accurately enters information into manufacturing data gathering system. Creates Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs)/Quality Notifications (QNs) for products or materials out of specification, discarded. Dispositions product/materials following Material Review Board meetings. Determines inspection priorities, monitors cell throughput, and tracks the status of receiving inspections by using and following established methods (Hot List, FIFO). Makes recommendations to improve the efficiency and accuracy of inspection processes to Quality Technicians. Actively participates in Manufacturing Cell teams as a Quality representative by addressing quality-related issues per documented processes. Completes on-time training required as needed. Assigned to special projects as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. 6 months – 1 year of applicable manufacturing experience required, prior inspection experience preferred. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read work instructions, specifications and procedures and complete all paperwork. Ability to use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gage pins, optical comparators, and other inspection equipment. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of final acceptance activities. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications related to manufactured products. Knowledge and ability to use standard problem-solving techniques. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work as a team contributor. Good mathematical and analytical abilities. Good organizational skills – Maintain an organized, neat, and clean work environment. High level of self-motivation. Able and willing to seek out opportunities, and to ask questions as needed. Proficiency with MS Office required (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to use manufacturing data gathering system to determine product status and location. General knowledge of machining processes. General knowledge/understanding of company products and their applications.
