Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Lead to design, build, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for financial software applications. You will lead automation efforts across web, desktop, API, and database layers, mentor junior QA engineers, and ensure software reliability in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Role Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable automated test frameworks for web, desktop, API, and database testing across multiple financial software applications. Lead the development and execution of automated test plans in coordination with developers, QA team members, and product owners to ensure test coverage and software reliability. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support fast feedback loops during feature development and deployment cycles. Write advanced automated scripts using languages such as Python, JavaScript, VBScript, or Java, leveraging tools like Test Complete, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent. Analyze test results, track defects, and participate in root cause analysis to improve system quality and reliability. Contribute to test data strategy, environment configuration, and infrastructure setup for robust test automation execution. Mentor QA Automation Engineer I team members and promote best practices in coding standards, version control, and modular test development. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to integrate validation of controls aligned with FFIEC, NIST, or other applicable frameworks. Evaluate emerging automation tools and contribute to roadmap discussions for automation strategy and scalability. Drive test optimization by balancing speed, coverage, and maintainability in high-risk financial modules.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
5-9 years of experience in QA automation, preferably in financial software or other regulated environments. Proficient in test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Test Complete, Selenium, JavaScript, Python). Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, BitBucket). Solid understanding of software development life cycles, secure SDLC principles, and risk-based testing. Familiarity with testing APIs, web services, and backend systems using tools such as Postman. Strong debugging and diagnostic skills with the ability to analyze application logs, test output, and system behavior. Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams. Excellent documentation and communication skills, with experience contributing to team QA standards and peer reviews.
Education
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Industry certifications preferred (e.g., ISTQB Foundation, Certified Agile Tester, CAST, CSTE).
