With an increasing demand for the company's world-leading laser components – which are used in large data centers and 5G networks – Coherent (formerly II-VI) is now expanding in Jarfalla and is looking for around twenty new engineers. As one of the world's most recognized material manufacturers of compound semiconductors, the American company Coherent is today at 73 locations in 18 countries. Among others the USA, China, Australia, Germany and Switzerland. At the Swedish facility in Jarfalla, development and production of laser and modulator components within optoelectronics takes place. A product that is not manufactured elsewhere within the company. Around 250 people currently work at the plant: operators, technicians, process engineers, development engineers and software engineers.

In order to enable the continued development of a sustainable digital society - where large data centers and the expansion of the 5G network are important parts - the demand for the components that Coherent in Jarfalla manufactures is constantly increasing. Therefore, they are now scaling up and expanding their production – and thus need to expand their team with 20 new engineers.
