This team plays a central role in Marvell, ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our MRVL Custom ASIC products. This role begins early in the design process and is central to enabling the rapid production ramps and demands of our hyper-scaler customers.The Custom Silicon team is responsible for the pre-silicon validation, post-silicon validation,Serdes Engineering tools and applications engineering for all Custom Silicon products. The CSE team plays a critical role in ensuring that the products are successfully released to production. The CSE teams are in USA, Japan, Singapore and India. The CSE team charter is to deliver tested, ready for production products and tools with quality exceeding customer expectations. To achieve this goal, the CSE team partners with IP and Central engineering, SOC engineering, Firmware engineering, Operations and PMO teams. We focus on customer satisfaction and A0-to-production mindset. What You Can Expect Role Summary We are seeking a seasoned Hardware Validation Director to lead end-to-end validation of complex systems—including functional, electrical, board-level, production/qualification, and customer engagement—for high-performance Storage controllers, networking, and compute platforms. The ideal candidate has experience across Flash technologies including NVME, PCIe and DDR (DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5) subsystems and thrives in cross-functional environments spanning silicon, firmware, system, and manufacturing. This role is both technical and customer-facing, responsible for defining strategy, building validation frameworks, ensuring quality at scale, and guiding customers through deployment and issue resolution. Responsibilities Lead the functional validation team in developing comprehensive test cases for every subsystem within the SoC. Review subsystem test coverage and guide the team through test development, implementation, and execution. Track progress, identify gaps, and adjust plans as needed to meet project goals and timelines. Collaborate closely with design and software teams to drive issue root cause analysis, resolve blockers, and report status and risks to leadership. Manage and mentor multiple validation teams, set performance goals, drive productivity, and support talent retention and hiring. Provide strategic direction to prepare the team for future, more complex projects. Lead end to end validation efforts, including pre silicon (emulation), early bring up, and post silicon through high volume production. Champion a strong quality mindset and ensure thorough validation processes. Identify validation gaps and proactively ensure they are addressed with a continuous improvement mindset Represent the validation team in the cross functional team and customer meetings What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 15+ years of related professional experience OR Master’s / PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 10-12 years of experience. The candidate should have prior experience in managing team and interacting with customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++ for test automation. Knowledge in project tracking tools: JIRA, Microsoft Project etc. Expertise in Flash architecture and NVMe storage protocols. Knowledge of standard interfaces, including PCIe (latest generation), Ethernet, SerDes, DDR5/LPDDR, ARM processors, USB, and I2C/I3C. Experience with emulation environments and ability to develop and execute tests on emulators. Familiarity with FPGA prototyping flows. Demonstrated experience completing post silicon validation cycles. Solid understanding of lab test equipment and validation methodologies.
