Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Wi-Fi Test Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in WLAN protocols, Wi-Fi security, and advanced testing methodologies. This role requires hands-on experience in test bed design, performance validation, and tool development to ensure robust Wi-Fi solutions across access points, extenders, and mesh systems.
Key Responsibilities Design and execute comprehensive test plans for WLAN technologies (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax). Validate Wi-Fi features, including extenders, mesh networks, and steering protocols (802.11k, 802.11v). Perform functional, regression, throughput, performance, stability, and stress testing. Analyze and troubleshoot issues using Wi-Fi sniffers, packet capture tools, and spectrum analyzers. Test Wi-Fi security features including WPA2, WPA3, and 802.1X authentication. Develop and maintain tools and automation frameworks for Wi-Fi testing. Set up and manage test beds, RF environments, attenuators, and related equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide detailed defect reports and improvement suggestions. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax). Deep knowledge of Wi-Fi security protocols (WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X). Expertise in Wi-Fi mesh, extenders, and steering protocols (802.11k, 802.11v). Proficiency with Wi-Fi sniffers and packet capture tools (Wireshark, OmniPeek, etc.). Experience with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, attenuators, Ixia, Spirent, and RF tools. Proficiency in Linux environments with solid programming/scripting experience (Python, C/C++, or similar). Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Ability to design test strategies and manage test bed infrastructure.
