Job Description Summary Job Description Role Summary: The Lead AI Automation Engineer is a production-oriented technical leader responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining AI and machine learning systems used in GE HC’s products. This role emphasizes building robust, scalable, and reliable production solutions across both medical imaging and text-based AI use cases, working closely with clinical AI scientists, product managers, and software engineers. Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to): Design, implement, and productionize AI models for clinical applications, including both imaging and text-based systems. Own end-to-end model lifecycle: data ingestion, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration. Build and maintain scalable ML infrastructure, pipelines, and model serving solutions. Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking to ensure reliability and quality in production. Drive technical decisions and tradeoffs with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and real-world constraints. Collaborate closely with clinical AI scientists to operationalize research and clinical concepts. Partner with software engineers to integrate AI components into larger systems. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. Significant hands-on experience building and deploying ML systems to production.
