Full Description
Software Tester Summary/Objective The Software Tester is responsible for meticulously examining software applications, employing various testing techniques and methodologies to detect and report defects or issues. The primary goal is to ensure that the software meets specified requirements, functions correctly according to user expectations, and maintains high standards of reliability and user satisfaction. Operating within a tier system, including Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 testers, each with distinct expectations, the role involves testing features and functionalities through manual processes. The Entry Level Software Testing position plays a crucial role in identifying and reporting bugs, glitches, or inconsistencies within the system, facilitating continual improvement and enhancement of the product, specifically contributing to the quality and functionality of our ATS. Core Job Duties ● Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other team members to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications. ● Continuously learn and stay updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in software development. ● Draft and edit documents and presentations. ● Handle confidential information with discretion. ● Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies to track progress and address any obstacles. ● Attend required meetings and keep calendar up to date. ● Test software applications and systems to identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and other defects. ● Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by users or discovered during testing and maintenance.
● Automation: Continuous improvement of metrics through process improvements and automation.
● Test Planning: Developing test plans, strategies, and test cases based on project requirements and specifications.
● Defect Identification and Reporting: Identifying, documenting, and prioritizing software defects or issues discovered during testing, and communicating them to developers using bug tracking systems.
● Quality Assurance: Ensuring that software products meet quality standards, adhere to best practices, and comply with regulatory requirements through thorough testing and validation.
● Documentation: Creating and maintaining testing documentation such as test plans, test cases, test reports, and other relevant documentation to support the testing process and facilitate knowledge transfer.
