Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Network Tester who brings strong hands-on knowledge of network technologies along with solid functional testing capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for validating network features, configurations, and services by designing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of routing, switching, protocols, and network troubleshooting, combined with the ability to perform structured, detail‑oriented testing across complex network environments.
The Network Tester will be responsible for developing detailed test strategies, test plans, and test cases, and executing them across functional, integration, regression, and negative testing scenarios. You will validate a wide range of network features including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, DHCP, DNS, QoS, and HA/Failover functionality, ensuring they perform as expected under various conditions. The role requires hands‑on use of tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump for packet analysis, as well as documenting test results, identifying defects, and collaborating with engineering teams to drive issue resolution. You will also manage and maintain network test environments, participate in design and requirement discussions, and prepare test reports and quality metrics to support release readiness.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching, VLANs, firewall rules, and VPN technologies. Proven ability to write test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and execute them independently. Experience with network troubleshooting and packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.). Hands-on experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar. Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail). Strong documentation and communication skills.
