About the Role
The role will be responsible for assisting in managing and ensuring the quality of software solutions through the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts across web and mobile platforms. This role is responsible for implementing robust test automation frameworks and strategies, maintaining the health of the automation suite and collaborating closely with development, delivery and QA teams to ensure continuous quality throughout the SDLC. The role will be responsible for taking ownership of automation roadmaps, lead automation initiatives and contribute to QA process improvement while maintaining strong communication with clients and stakeholders. They are required to have strong technical automation skills, a quality-first mindset and experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Responsibilities
Analyse designs, documents, and new or modified QA procedures and standards. Fully understand the functionality offered. Document software defects using a bug-tracking system and report defects to software developers. Apply quality principles in the Agile product lifecycle aligned to the Webtonic Way of Work. Own and facilitate a comprehensive test strategy to ensure that mobile and web applications meet high-quality standards. Develop and execute software test plans. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust automation test suites for mobile and web applications. Define, implement, and manage test automation strategies aligned with project goals. Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product owners to identify test requirements early in the lifecycle. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing. Conduct code reviews of automation scripts and mentor junior automation testers. Investigate test failures, analyse root causes, and report findings to stakeholders. Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives. Ensure regression tests are maintained and regularly executed across releases. Analyse test data and metrics to report quality trends and highlight risks. Support performance, security, and compatibility testing where relevant. Continuously assess and implement improvements to automation coverage, tools, and process efficiency. Prepare and send monthly reports to the product owner. Provide timely information and feedback to management. Consult with developers in the resolution of problems. Define the client’s test requirements and discuss changes with the delivery team. Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Facilitate learning and information sharing sessions with the Test team.
Qualifications
Formal qualification(s): BA/BSC/Relevant Tertiary qualification
Certifications: ISTQB Certification Valid code B driver’s license, own transport/public transport
Required Skills
